Ah the smell of fresh cut grass in the summer air as we hammer away with itching eyes and runny noses. Grass pollenates throughout the summer and is most likely the cause of outdoor allergy symptoms this time of year. DrPete's advice is sound. I practice ear, nose and throat and allergy as well. A non-sedating antihistamine and a steroid nasal spray are first line therapy. Claritin is over the counter now and is a reasonable first choice. Any nasal steroid such as Nasonex, Flonase, Nasacort or Rhinocort will help with the inflammation. Eye symptoms can be relieved with topical drops like Patanol.
