While I'm waiting on my bike to get delivered, I've compiled a list of questions so I can make just one thread instead of spamming the front page

I'm just going to toss this out.


1. Is this computer good? Planet Bike Protege 9.0 http://www.planetbike.com/computers.html# It has everything I want, but it looks poorly made.

2. I'm not too comfortable riding in cycling tight shorts yet, are there any mountain biking shorts with included padded liners? Will a padded brief and basketball shorts work without chaffing? Performance Bikes has a mountain short and the description says available slot for padded liner, but I coudl'nt find the padded liner for sale anywhere on the site.

3. What are the essential equipment/accessories to fix my bike so that I can hopefully ride it back to my car/house? So far I have the following down:
-flat tire patches
-mini frame pump
-tire levers
-minitool

4. What kind of problems would I experience most? I'm guessing that flats is up there, what about a dislocated chain?

5. Are there any break in rules for a new bike? What should I not do, how should I ride it for the first XX miles?

6. My bike is a Specialized Allez Triple in silver/black. Will it be tacky if I get matching clothing?

7. Is there a book and/or site that will teach me how I can service my bike? I'm a technical guy and love hands on activities and building stuff.
