I had a problem with my right hand going numb (damage from a previous work related injury). I tried a bunch of different handlebar/stem setups until I settled on trekking bars from Nashbar and a 40 degree stem. That setup combined with some Specialized gloves really helped reduce any hand numbness. Now I only get hand numbness if I fall into the bad habit of leaning forward too much.
