Yeah, I ride 17 but I wish I got 16 or even 15 frame, 17 is pretty comfortable for me but going with the small side is better in my opinion.

Don't let LBS bias get to you, get all your information from places like here unless you find an LBS which is totally helpful, real and sincere to you. As far as fit goes, don't let the salesman choose your bike, choose your own bike based on comfort and your own needs.
