If you want to meet any number of interesting people--including interesting women--go on some big group rides. Anything from a local one-day event, to an MS150, to a multi-day extravanza. Forget about hammerheads and pace lines. Ride at your own pace. Wear your normal gear. I guarantee you, without fail, there will be some interesting folks going at your speed who you'll be happy you met. Some may be people you share an interesting minute or two with. Now and then, you'll meet someone destined to be a long-term bud.
