like tetris, but faster and in real life.

I'm going to nyc in a couple months and I posted as such on my ahem, myspace page. I mentioned I was bringing my bike [of course!] and now my non-cyclist friends who live in new york are coming out of the woodwork screaming, "are you INSANE?"

Granted I live in a small city with not-so-crazy traffic but I feel absolutely comfortable in even the worst here. I've also ridden in seattle, san fransisco, and vancouver b.c. without even an ounce of hesitation.

the only thing I was nervous about my upcoming nyc trip as far as my bike is concerned in getting in the habit of locking the **** out of it. here in pdx, one mini U around the frame or through the rear triangle is the standard for myself as well as many people with way nicer bikes than mine.

I digress. should I be concerned about my game, if you will, when it comes to riding in new york, or is it just a worthless cause trying to explain to non-cyclists that traffic is by and large, not that difficult and often really fun to navigate in?
