Cracked Another Frame, How To Handle It
Well here's the story in 2004 I bought a 2003 model road bike from a local shop. A year and half later the headtube of the frame developed a crack (aluminum frame). I brought it in to the shop and it was replaced on waruntee with a 2004 model, same thing different paint. So yeasturday about a year and half later this frame developed a crack in nearly the same place. So this leaves me with a few questions which I would like to know the answers to before I go in. First warantee replacement frames still have warantees correct? Also since I have had two of these frames crack I feel it must be a problem with the frames themselves and dont really want to get another just to have it crack. So on this note how do you think the shop should handle exhangeing it for another brand? The reason I ask is the shop also sells Specialized and I would rather ride one those now? How do you think they should handle it since I have had two crack. If they wont exchange I will probably go out and buy a different frame kind of an unexpected purchase that will probably leave me without a bike for awhile, so if anyone has a quality frame to sell let me know, ideallly like a 2001 Lemond Zurich but I'm not really picky at this point must be good quality however. Note I left out brand and shop names for now to avoid potential conflicts.
