i never have had these issues on my bike.
i was riding back from the single track at wirth. on my mtn bike, early afternoon. just a bunch of losers in a car trying to prove something. they almost ran over a kid walking through the parking lot of the corner store they were racing across after they threw the bottle.

and for what it's worth, i find that as a female rider i get harrassed far less than my guy friends.
boys will be boys, ya know. ya get more points or something if ya take down a dude on a bike.
