Don't forget to eat food from the places along the way! Many towns specialize in certain foods. Up here, there's the Markerville Creamery, and McKays in Cochrane who have great ice cream. If you visit Calgary, you might want to hit the Peter's Drive-In. Winnipeg has a number of fascinating places downtown. Beausejour, just outside Winnipeg, has a place that sells Buffalo burgers. In Australia the hamburgers are something else ... you've never seen a hamburger until you've seen the Australian ones!! Those are just some examples. You wouldn't want to eat at a restaurant every day, but don't overlook the chance of sampling some of the local cuisine now and then!

Also, depending on where you are going, you should be able to pick up anything you are missing or craving in grocery stores along the way.
