Seriously, can a bear overtake a bicycle?
I don't even bother trying to outrun dogs anymore. I get off my bike, keep the bike between me and the dog, grab my pump as a weapon, and slowly walk away.
no one can outride a bear if the bear is actually trying to get you. they can run at 35 mph easy
and for longer than you can do it. so don't feel safe running. it is safer to face the bear and
grunt and act up but not make eye contact and see what the bear does.
