Hey Granny,

I know exactly what you mean about the W&OD-- mind numbing after awhile. I have an approximately 25 mile loop I do which I call 'the flat route' (although there are some very short steep hills that roll through the various subdivisions, it's nothing like say, going to Clifton) which leaves Fairfax City and goes in a big loop down through Springfield. The turnaround area is Edsel Industrial Park. It can be shortened to about 19 miles or easily added to depending on your strength and goals. Do you have Google Earth, SportsTracks, or Garmin software? I an send the route via those formats if you do.

For a very hilly ride I can show you 'The Clifton Route' which has 'The Wall', a ballbuster hill coming out of Clifton heading back to Fairfax.
