Howdy,
It's usually dark by the time I get home lately, so I've been riding in the dark a lot. I got a Schwin light from Target or Walmart, but it sucks. I've taken to mounting my C Maglite, but that's not bright enough, either. I live in a residential area with very few streetlights, and about a mile from me is a new development with some nice dirt and paved roads and there are zero lights there at night.
I went to Home Depot to get the stuff needed to make my own light, I found
several different setsof
instructions on the net for making one myself.
But on the way there I wandered over to Northern Tools and I saw this:
Vector 150,000 Candlepower Cordless Worklight, Model# VEC142
"Portable worklight is a must for every garage or work room. Reflector swivels and tilts for exact light placement. Can be used corded or cordless. Features powerful quartz halogen bulb, clamp or hook adapter and 12 Volt DC accessories
150,000 candlepower
Quartz halogen bulb
Swivels and tilts
Use corded or cordless
Clamp or hook adapter, 12V DC accessories"
At right at $30 it's priced right.
But, it's kinda big. And really bright, but I figure I can add a dimmer to it so that it's not going full blast all the time.
Is it too big?
Too bright?
Will the bulb not be able to withstand the jolts from riding around?
What do y'all think?
Thanks!
