You'll have to untape one side of the bars. I've never removed a pair of STI shifters before, but I guess you'd de-tension both shift and brake cables, pull the lever fully, unscrew the little allen bolt, and take it off. Just remember to get a quill stem with a front-load two-bolt design next time, they're so much more convenient.
