you really need a special tool, or a cap with it built into the tip. search for a cap out there with it that you can "borrow" check large equipment machinery and farming equip....more likely than autos.

might be able to use fine needle nose pliers or some forceps/tweezers if the core is not too tight. let us know how you make out. walmart has a great tool for this!
