Although the Centurion's componentry isn't exactly suited for your plans, I'd definitely choose it's frame over the Crack-N-Fail's. Those early Cannondales will give you one hell of a harsh ride.

As for putting a triple on the Centurion, all you'll need to do is replace the BB axle, if you have a conventional BB, not a cartridge.
