Wulfheir, I do a bit of running (less now that I'm riding more), and I wouldn't think that was an odd place to run at all. Asphalt is a lot more forgiving than concrete and there aren't tree roots and driveways and cutouts to trip over. So, 5 feet out from the curb against traffic is exactly where I run.

Personally, I always yield to cyclists though, knowing it's a lot easier for me to do than the cyclist.
