Well, one of the reasons I ask is because I am, right now, in the midst of organizing, advertizing for, etc. etc. a cycling event where I live.


And another reason I ask is because I was curious how many have been on the non-cycling end of cycling events. Many cyclist just don't realize how much is involved in putting on their favorite events ... they just show up, complain about the amount it costs and the level of service provided, and ride. Or maybe if the ride organizer is really fortunate the event will go off with rave reviews!!

But some here, including me, have seen the other side of things ..... I've been the secretary/treasurer for one of my clubs, I've marshalled at several events, I've done triage at the finish line of crits, I've volunteered at a control, and this is the second year I'm putting the event I'm working on right now on.
