The question I'd ask is "Do I really need front suspension?" That front suspension adds LOTS of $$ to the cost of the bike (not to mention weight and complexity). If you're mostly commuting with only occasional off-road stuff, I'd look at the Kona Dew line.

If you must have the front suspension, then I can't advise you. I've owned front-suspension bikes before, and decided that I didn't need that feature for my riding. Good luck & happy shopping!
