I have to let Minneapolis-area readers know of my new favorite bike shop in the twin cities. It is called ExcelCycle and is in Excelsior, MN, about 20 minutes west of Mpls. I've been in there a few times for different things, and think I'll make it my primary bike shop. Definately more geared to road cycling vs. mountain.

They have good quality stuff, staff that really know what they are talking about, and for a guy who owns mid-range gear, feel that I'm treated with respect even if I'm not buying the top-of-the-line components (I've left more than one bike shop because the upsell was too strong).

The only downers are that they don't carry alot of lower-end new bikes (I think Bianchi is the most affordable brand they sell) and you have to make appointments for service due to the smaller size of the shop. But that is a small price to pay for having a bike shop that you like and that carries every gadget and accessory that you need.

I'd recommend checking it out of you are a Twin Cities biker.
