Take some weight off your hands by raising the bars.
Make sure they are placed a comfortable distance from the saddle in reach and height so that you have flex in your elbows and relaxed shoulders.
Check the position of the brake levers on the bars in height and rotation: a little inward cant of the levers can sometimes help attain a neutral wrist set.
Avoid the death grip, ride with a lose grip.
Dont ride too much too soon.
