I've been lucky in the sense that I've never swallowed a bug (yet!), but I had one encounter with a bee which flew down my open jersey on a nasty downhill section. I completely freaked out thinking it was going to sting me.

When I stopped at the bottom, the Bee was just sat on my jersey zip, looked around at me, winked, then flew off...boy was I thankful!!!!
