I don't think that's the case. I think the majority of the people riding fixed are doing it because they like riding bikes and they like fixed-gear bikes more than bikes with gears. I think the pure fashion riders are a tiny minority.

On the other hand, fixed-gear bikes are better looking than gearies. So maybe part of why I like to ride is because of the elegance and beauty of the bike. Does riding a bike partly because I think it's attractive make me a fashionista biker? I don't think so.
