I am considering getting a different mountain bike. I currently have a somewhat upgraded TRek 4300 and am looking at a Trek 6500. I just put a rock shox j3 on my 4300. The 6500 has a Manitou Axel Elite w/preload, TPC lockout.

Are these forks just about equal or is one better than the other?
