I'm building up a frame I bought on eBay, it's a near mint Carlton Super Course. I was kindly informed by a member of this forum that it was built on or around December 1982. It came equipped with a Campy headset and bottom bracket that are also in great shape (but not stock), so I'm scrounging eBay for period-correct Campy drivetrain, etc. I'll have the wheels built separately by a local wheelbuilder.

My questions are as follows - any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated:

1) are drivetrain parts from both the Super Record and Record groups interchangeable? i.e. if I were to obtain a Record front changer and a SR rear changer would I be ok? (By the way, I am right that Super Record and Record were the top 2 campy road groups during this era, no?)
2) are parts interchangable (by and large) between the years 1980-1985?
3) are there any specific or identifiable compatability issues with the 2 groups during the time frame posted above?
4) if the bottom bracket that came with the frame is of later vintage, how would I determine this and could I potentially run into any issues while setting up the drivetrain (with chainline or what have you)?
5) the rear changers from this era are meant to be used with a 6-speed freewheel, correct? Did campy manufacture freewheels? are they difficult to come by? by the way, with regard to wheels/freewheel I am not 100% dedicated to getting period-correct parts, I just want a rear wheel that will be compatible w/ the rest of the drivetrain and last a good long time.
6) is it possible or simply cost-prohibitive to purchase NOS (or very gd/near mint) groupsets from this era?

by the way, if it helps I'm not a complete moron when it comes to bikes - I know what I like, own a repair stand, tools, and a tub of grease - I'm just not the most familiar with these specificities, need a little guidance, & figure this is a good place to go...
