I'm an on and off vegan (mostly on, although I on occaision will eat local organic dairy) and usually try to get my hands on used saddles or aftermarket clearence saddles [even if they have leather in them], I feel like these usually have less of an impact than a brand new synthetic saddle will have. Although I could be wrong. I know nothing about markets and leather production vs. synthetic leather production.
