I also had an R7 designation added to my 11B, that indicated qualification and training with the Redeye--a shoulder-launched infrared-seeking antiaircraft missle. The Redeye was the predessor to the Stinger missle. I was lucky enough to fire several Redeyes during a Divisional demonstration. They used large missile-like targets called the BATS (if memory serves) which I believe stands for Ballistic Air Target System.
So can you get me one or not?
