If Schwinn was really on the ball, they'd make it out of steel, paint it dark metallic green, and put some Tektro inline levers on it. Then you'd almost have a cool modern retro machine that a lot of people would want. Kind of like the new beetle or mustang.
Remember, back in 1972, the Schwinn Varsity was the bike that every kid wanted to have. I had to settle for a Continental.
Settle for the Continental? It was the next up from the Varsity, then they had the Paramount at the top of the line and a couple of others back in the early-mid 70's like that short wheelbase bike, I think was the Sprint?!
