So a few months ago I was told I'm getting a raise and a promotion. A month and a half ago, I started doing the position, promised a hefty raise. Yesterday, they finally got everything through the corporate bullcrap and made me an offer.

It was basically nothing. I get a 10% shift differential, and I'd lose that with the new job. Supposedly, it would be a 17% increase, but that's only 7% when you figure that I can't actually do the new job on second shift. And the offer is ~$3-5 less than the going wage, and what I was led to believe I'd be making... And it wouldn't even be retroactive to when I started doing the work. Plus I should be getting about that much right now for the position I was doing (we just had our reviews, and the raises are supposed to be kicking in as of the 5th. THOSE will be retroactive because we still haven't gotten the details from corprate.)

So today I told them that I couldn't accept the position, and would be taking next week off, then returning to my old position.

Dumb, probably yeah (sorry, Keicker, your comment was too late to stop my brashness...)

So anyone in Minneapolis that feels like hanging out and riding and/or drinking next week, I'm totally available. Unless they come up with a better offer when they see how many things there are that only I know.
