OMAS specialized in lightweight parts, alloy, titanium, coloured anodizing and such. They were considered an upgrade, but if you actually had and used OMAS parts back in the day, you usually found out that they were pretty delicate. This goes particularly for the headset. The hubs are pretty good though.
And, yes, get some good tools. Although, even with the proper headset tools, and the use of a rag in between, I managed to gouge alloy lockrings. Not as bad as this though! The alloy is just very soft, and many people used a steel lockring instead.
