Vredenstein Fortezza problems?

Has anyone besides me had problems with Vredenstein Fortezza's blowing off the rim when inflating? I went through 3 new tubes before I gave up on mounting them. I figured they might have been just a tad too large for my rims (Bonty Racelite), but I gave them to my buddy and he's had the same problem on his Shimano rims. WTF?
