I don't know about that... Rubbing on the rim? 99% of those racers have the calipers adjusted so that the wheels can be pulled out with out flipping that little gizmo on Shimano calipers / using the Campy gizmo in the lever. Anyway, if it was rubbing he would have stopped to fix it or gotten a bike change or flipped the gizmo or something.
