Maybe it is because we just witnessed a historical ride and tour, and if it turns out to be a result of doping then many would be disappointed. When you pull for someone you put a certain amount of trust into them. If it turns out that person cheated then it is reasonable to be disappointed. I don't see where nationality is involved.
We Americans know for a fact at least one of our riders cheated although he still refuses to admit it. Maybe all non-American posters can get over their inferiority complex that has recently become rapant. Not everything we post involves nationality.
