I am working my way back up to century-level. Tomorrow, there is a 122-mile charity ride comprising 3 round-trip loops between McGee Park (downtown Carlsbad CA) and the top of the Torrey Pines hill in La Jolla. I plan to start at dawn and complete the first loop or two, but one of my crazy friends is doing the whole ride, followed by a San Diego - to - Julian "pie run" century the next day. (For those unfamiliar with San Diego County, the quaint mountain town of Julian, elevation 4400 feet, is known for its apples and apple pies.)
