You guys riding with the Wipperman stainless steel model need to know that there have been several chain failures. I read about it on the internet myself but ignored it only to have one break after about 500 miles. The regular nickel plated chains seem to work well, I have about 1500 miles on one of those. The failures usually originate near the stampings on the link. It is probably worth your time to check for hairline cracks at your earliest convenience, because some of the failures have occurred when the rider was pushing pretty hard and they have gone over the bars. I was more fortunate, mine simply fell apart while I was soft pedaling.
