Bikes: 2006 Giant Rincon 21"

Mike From Lancaster PA

Hello all,

My name is Mike from Lancaster PA. I have been an avid skateboarder for the past 7 years... my age finally caught up with me and I got a jones fracture on my foot (outer bone that trails down from your pinky toe) I have been thinking of what else to do to keep in shape and not be quite as rough but still get a workout and I thought about mountain biking.

To give a more precise location, I am right on the Lancaster/Berks Border along route 76. I have been riding bikes and dirtbikes all my life. Mostly dirtbike after the age of 7 though. I have used an old schwinn road bike that my parents bought back in 1982 when I was in the days before a drivers licence and would typically ride about 15 to 30 miles each day until I got a car.

I am now 23 and just bought a 2006 Giant Rincon to get back into mountain bikes in particular. I love riding a dirtbike but having a car I am limited to the 7 acres of land we have here in a wooded area which is very nice, BUT running in circles gets old. I got this Giant so I could go down to french creek and blue marsh ( both within 1/2 hour of me) to ride on some trails other then what I am used to here at home.

I look foward to getting to know you guys here on the board and maybe even meeting up with a few people in the area to ride on some trails (I dont know any bikers besides my bud Chris in westchester)

I should be sticking around for a while. I took the bike for a 5 mile ride tonight on some back roads here. It showed me how out of shape I am at 23 years old haha. The skill I had when I was 15 years old is far greater then the skills I have now... BUT its the first day getting back into it so it is expected. Felt great riding around on the roads again.

Later on guys.

Mike
