I would take it to a shop and have them mike (measure with a micrometer) both the seatpost diameter and the diameter of the seat-tube opening. Could be the bike got assembled with the wrong size, or that it's just at the edge of tolerances.

We've had a couple of new bikes where we had to toss the quick-release and use a regular bolt instead.
