Full suspension isn't just for Freeriding and big drops.
Long travel full suspension with 35lb to 45lb rigs is for Freeride.


Full suspension can be utilized for any type of riding. From a super lightweight 22lb cross country rig to 9 and 10 travel downhill bikes, and everything in between.

As far as a decent bike, go to www.specialized.com and look at the FSR line of bikes.
