Don't fill the bottle all the way up before you put it in the freezer.

After taking the bottle out of the freezer, fill it up the rest of the way before you go.

With the temps around here, it makes little difference freezing the bottle. It's still hot in an hour. Insulated bottles or a camelbak filled with ice are more effective.
