I don't like threaded stems, and believe that the Michelin AirComp tubes are the best you can get -- they even seem to hold air a little better than the standard bike-store branded dreck, and I prefer them to Contis (valve stem issues) or Vredstein (stiff thick butyl makes for pinch flat heaven). Just my 2 cents.
+1 on the Michelin AirComps, easily available and the no thread barrel saves the rubber washer on your pump head.
