Logically correct and probably a healthier attitude, but it's also something I spend a lot of time tinkering with. I've taken a few spills and the scratches from that don't seem to bug me, but cage boss really bummed me out since it was by my own hand.

So did you go down or hit the top tube when the pedal socket gave way? Either couldn't have felt good.
