Why spend $150 entry fee, and travel expenses to Indianapolis to compete in a format where you could be the strongest rider, win your heet, and lose to someone you couldn't race against, only because the other heet had a different group dynamic? Not to mention subjecting yourself to the risk of riding in a pack with guys on tri bikes that may have never done a mass start road race?
Because the fee to work your way up from a CAT 5 racer to be noticed by a pro team would be FAR more than $150 + airfare...
Was there any doubt that the 25-35 group would win?
