Looking at Susan's photo of the intersection, the bike lane stripping stops completely in the intersection. I'll have my photos by the end of the week, which show a wider view.

My only point was that, as I was riding, I saw no reason for taking the lane. I cannot speak to the circumstances involving the accident, as it was a different time of day, and traffic could have been different. But taking the lane here would have been pretty easy to do.
