why is it that when one person drops a snarky answer, other people have to follow suit?
an alleycat is an unofficial bike race. advertised through word of mouth, internet, and bike shops. show up with 5 or 10 bucks, get a piece of paper called a manifest. usually it's got different checkpoints on it. sometimes you have to do them in order, sometimes you chose your own cp order. hit each checkpoint--at each there's a person telling you to do wacky stuff. some alleycats have themes. others try to **** with you. either way, it's a race through the streets, it's fun, it's a party on bikes, and organizers give away prizes at the end.
sometimes alleycats involve consuming alcohol and every race i've been to has offered a nonalcoholic alternative, which i think is a stand-up move.
it's fun and a whole lot less intimidating than i thought it would be.
