Hello all.

After doing some long distance running im trying to get into road cycling for commuting and also for races (eg london to brighton, oxford to cambridge etc) and would like some advice regarding which bike to go for. Originally i wanted a hybrid and my lbs recommnded a Giant FCR2. After some consideration ive opted for a full on road bike and i really like the SCR 1. Unfortunaly all the local dealers are are out of my frame size till september when giant are expected to ship some more to the UK. Is the SCR 1 worth the wait?

Ive been led to believe that Giant generally offer the best spec in my price range and i really like the look and feel of the SCR 1 but i could really do without the 5 week wait till they are in stock.

Anyone offer some advice regarding the SCR 1 or alternatives (esp Specialized)??
