I disagree. Found that the difference for me is between the older single pivot caliper and newer double pivot calipers. With single pivot i never get the throw-you-over-the-handlebars bite that I can get with double (similar pads). Better mechanical advantage on newer brakes. I run 1 tiagra and 1 rx1000 caliper on my fixie and they bite plenty hard. I do not like riding without the ability to stop hard.

Guess this is not an issue for the poster, but that's my 2cents
