i just figured it out - the rim is a 27"! this is the rim i have.. i misread 662 for 622! silly me. and the 27" old tires that were on there felt a bit large, but probably because they're very old (they were used when i got them). if only had i checked for the rim's website before i purchased those tires... haha.
