Miyata Trail Runner

Hi everyone, I've made a couple posts on BF already, but haven't really introduced myself yet, so- Hi, nice to meet you!
Okay, onto my question- I just got an old Miyata Trailrunner on craigslist. It's in awesome shape, lugged chromoly, very old school (almost too old school, with 18 speeds, ancient cantis and biopace). It's got horizontal dropouts, so it might make an awesome (but heavy) single speed. I did a few searches online, and from what I can figure out, either the Trail Runner evolved quite a lot through the years, or Miyata kept recycling the model name on very different bikes, much like fuji does. The tubing stickers on mine only say "Cro-Mo" tubes, no mention of splined or butted anything. Other Trail Runners I've seen online have splined tripled butted tubing. Is there any chance mine is splined or butted but doesn't say so? Any Miyata afficianados out there know much about the Trail Runner? And does biopace really hurt your knees as much as everyone says? I'll post pictures soon.
