I usually commute on my MTB, but today I decided to get up early and take a longer route on my road bike (Trek 520).
I foolishly assumed that the traffic would be light at 6:15. My normal commuting route has little traffic at 7:15.
Instead I had a good speed workout. I normally putter along at 12-15mph, but I found myself going 18-20mph as waves of cars zipped by at 40mph, some passing within a couple feet. Damned road has no shoulders.
Well, I won't do that again
