The east/west routes in Miami scare the heck out of me. I commute from North Dade to downtown everyday along NE 2nd Avenue (18 miles roundtrip). I alternative between a mountain bike with a Topeak removable pannier pack, an old road bike with a backpack, and a fixie.
Yea, I always find neighborhoods to cut through while going east/west. Just have to spend a few minutes on mapquest or gmaps.
