...another police officer. I was transferred this past June to a uniform position after about nine years in plain clothes. The lifestyle had taken its toll but I'm working my way down. I'm the same height as coppilot but had a little more fun apparently. 234 lbs about a month before I switched jobs and 208 about a week ago.
I think you'll find that the less you worry about the weight loss and the more you concentrate on enjoying the exercise, the easier the loss will become.
I commute for my four day rotation (about 150 k or 90 miles) and then have three days off. I cycle for two of them and put on about 70 k (45 miles). My only fear is that the weather will turn and I won't do enough to keep the pounds coming off.
Don't know about you but I try and take a different route whenever I can to avoid boredom. My route to work is pretty fixed (and dark, like coppilot I leave the house at about 4 am) so I try and mix it up whenever I can.
